Lesser Siren Siren intermedia

Large up to 46cm total length. Costal grooves range from 34-37. Olive to dark brown in color with dark spots mottling the length of the body, considered to get darker with age. Ventral is generally lighter in color than the dorsal. Two small limbs are present near the head with four toes on each. No rear legs are present. Gills are never lost, but they can be found out of water in search of new habitat.
