Eastern Spadefoot Scaphiopus holbrookii

Medium-sized up to 6cm TL. Yellow to brown with some being darker often light-colored stripes start behind the head and run down the back. The skin may have bumps or “warts”, which are often red as juveniles. Ventral is unmarked and generally solid white or gray. Paratoid glands are small and round located above the tympanum. Rear feet are webbed, and have a small black ridge on the heel used as a spade to dig.
