Medium size Salamander up to 12cm in total length. Down the sides there are between 18-20 costal grooves. Normally seen having a red or orange straight dorsal stripe down the length of the body and tail. Unstriped specimens are commonly seen with the base color which is ashy gray and specked with bright spots.
