Eastern Narrow-mouthed Toad Gastrophryne carolinensis

Small up to 3.3cm TL. Dark gray, reddish brown, or olive green while some are nearly black. Ventral is mottled with dark spots. They are smooth skinned, since they are not actually a toad. Short limbs without webbing or toe pads. They have a fold of skin behind the eyes used during feeding of ants, for protection. Males have a dark throat pouch.
