Medium up to 20cm TL, largest terrestrial salamander in Illinois. Costal grooves range from 11-14. Dark colored with olive to yellow blotches irregularly across the entire body. Ventral is black or gray with light blotches. Four toes on the front legs and five on the rear legs.
