Small-mouthed Salamander Ambystoma texanum

Medium up to 17cm TL. Costal grooves range from 14-16. Generally dark in color black to gray, some specimens are heavily mottled with gray on the sides. Eyes are bulging, behind a short round snout. Lower jaw protrudes slightly from the top jaw. Males have a longer compressed tail.
